In their nightly shows, Phare performers use theater, music, dance and modern circus techniques to tell uniquely Cambodian stories from recent history, folklore and modern society. The often-serious themes vary wildly, from war to discrimination, poverty to cultural differences. Entry fees range from $10-$38 depending on seating and ages. The artists are from challenging socio-economic backgrounds, and all are graduates of the Phare Ponleu Selpak NGO school in Battambang, which provides free education to young locals. This richly complex show is certain to both enchant and enlighten.
